You see here the folder that they sent to add 1 photo and basic information about us (names, birthdays etc). This folder is for our sponsored child and more often then not is the only correspondence if any they get from some sponsors. I appreciate the fact that they are donating financially but to me being a sponsor is more then just sending money and I want to be the sponsor that has a connection with their sponsor child and I hope to travel there one day! The papers are the stationary they use that has the right side available for translating. On those I wrote more in detail (more space then the folder) about our family and asked her questions about hers.
I did not ask her if she has Turner Syndrome or say that she should see a doctor and be tested because I want to see if she tells me first without me asking, if not I want to build a relationship with her before I get that personal. I did tell her that Alana had Turner Syndrome and Autism and went to a special school, was special and unique and had alot of doctor visits. I then asked her if she sees the doctor there and asked her how tall she was.
There is 5 photos (besides the one in the folder) to go along with the letter, you can send paper things like coloring sheets, bookmarks, stickers, cards etc. as a little "gift" so I took one of the sheets I use with Alana that any kid would have fun with it is a butterfly that you use dot stickers to decorate and color the rest and sent that along with stickers to do it.
Looking forward to getting our first letter from her, it can take a few weeks to a few months but I will surely blog about it when we do!
