Are you a Super Duper Pooper?

I found a bear at the goodwill today that sings "I'm a super duper pooper"

I was umm giggling my big head off.

Here is a video of a same bear on youtube.. go ahead watch it but make sure you don't have any liquids in your mouth or do not have to use the restroom lol. My bear doesn't have the diaper.

I'm sure the bear was inspired by this clip which is just wrong on so many levels. (the parents sing the song at the 1:20 mark)

Cardboard Box Play House.. What Can You Make With Cardboard?

We had this big box from the lawn mower we bought a few months ago sitting in the garage along with a few other boxes so last weekend Kaila and I decided to make a play house with them..

Supplies:

Lots and Lots of duck tape
Boxes of varying sizes
Crazy Glue
and a crazy mother.

Without Further Ado... I present our house...

Below you will see the "mailbox" (aka huggies wipe box) Kaila requested her house MUST have, complete with her mail or football.. whatever.

This would be well let's see, a tunnel, a back door, a side door, a doggie door, if the flap was closed it could double as a tiny tiny bedroom.. Whatever you decide.

The "front door" view.. wow her house really looks messy inside, wonder where she gets that from?

To the left is the "chair" I made, gotta have some furniture..

Kaila's gorgeous decorations.. aka stickers, marker and scrapbook paper, even a shipping label.

Looking inside through the "window" this started as a shelf and was turned into a stove and sink.. like my stove burner artistic skills?

The sink (okay I will explain it to you the white duck taped thing would be the sink (yeah yeah its the cool above counter sink model).. the stick looking thing next to it would be the faucet).. I drew the line when asked to make a toilet.

Welcome Back To School! ~ Priceless School Supply Rant

Written BY Ginny

Dear Mrs. X:

In just over a week, you will be my son’s Grade 1 teacher. He is ever so excited to be under your tutelage. Why, since the last day of kindergarten, entering your class was all he could talk about. He gleefully thrust a piece of paper into my hand on that June afternoon, and said, “Here’s a list of the stuff I need for school next September!”

And I have to admit, I, too, was excited. I’m a school supplies geek from way back. And so, in early August, I set out to buy the items you’d listed.

It was on my fourth store that the realization began to sink in.

You’re a crafty bitch, aren’t you?

This list was a thinly disguised test. Could I find the items, exactly as you’d prescribed? Because if not, my son would be That Kid, the one with the Problem Mother, Who Can’t Follow Directions.

For example, the glue sticks you requested. In the 40 gram size. Three of the little buggers. (What kind of massive, sticky project you’ve got planned for the first day of school that would require the students to bring all this glue, I cannot imagine.) But the 40 gram size doesn’t come in a convenient 3-pack. The 30 gram size does. But clearly, those would be wildly inappropriate. So I got the individually priced 40’s, as per your instructions.

Another bit of fun was your request for 2 packs of 8 Crayola crayons (basic colors). The 24 packs, with their 24 different colors, sat there, on sale. I could have purchased three of the 24 packs for the price I had to pay for the 8 packs. (Clearly, you’ll not be teaching the youngsters any sort of economics lessons this year.) Even the cashier looked at me, as if to say, “Pardon me, ma’am, but are you slow?” as I purchased these non-bargain crayons. But that’s what the list said. And I was committed to following the list.

But the last item, well, now, you saved your malice up for that one, didn’t you? “8 mm ruled notebooks”, you asked for. Simple enough. Except the standard size is seven millimetres. One. Millimetre. Difference. Do you realize, Mrs. X., exactly how infinitesimal the difference between 7 mm ruling and 8 mm ruling is? Pretty small, I assure you. The thickness of a fingernail, approximately. But that millimetre, that small bit of nothingness, made me drive to four different stores, over the course of three sweaty August hours. And when I finally, finally found the last remaining 8 mm notebooks, I took no pleasure in my victory. I merely shifted my focus. To you, Mrs. X.

You wanna dance, lady? Let’s dance.

Because I am just batshit crazy enough to play your games. And, in turn, come up with some of my own.

On show and share day, my son will be bringing the video of his birth. It will be labelled, “Ben’s First Puppy.” Enjoy.

He will be given a list of words, and daily, he will ask you what they mean. Words such as, “pedophile”, “anti-semite”, and “skank”. Good luck with those.

At some point, you will attempt to teach him mathematics. And I’m quite sure that, like most of your ilk, you will require my son to “show his work”. And he will.

Through interpretive dance.

Because that is who you’ve chosen to tangle with, toots. A stay at home mom who is not entirely balanced, and has altogether too much time on her hands. But is, most certainly, A Mother Who Can Follow Directions.

Sincerely,

Ginny

Doctor's Advice...

I love this Doctor

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ...... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans ! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.
AND.....For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than North Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than North Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than North Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than North Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of
sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than North Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

AND REMEMBER: 'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Amen

Funny Autism to "Typical" Comparison

So today someone had a minor meltdown about fruit snacks...

Can you guess why?

Did you notice what could possibly have caused a meltdown?

It seems that the machine went haywire and mixed up colors. Now she eats these often and knows the colors they are supposed to be..

This is so not a cool april fool's joke.

Now before you go thinking the child in question was Alana.. guess again.

Even "typical" children can have a few autistic traits.. its in all of us!

p.s. I will post more later about my last post. I won't leave anyone hanging.

Samaritan cleans dirty crook's clock with soap

05:58 PM PDT on Tuesday, March 31, 2009

By ROB PIERCY / KING 5 News

News Video Here.

EVERETT, Wash. -- Don't mess with a Good Samaritan carrying a bottle of laundry detergent.

Last Thursday, Susan Blackwell was loading groceries into her car at a Safeway when a man ran up and grabbed her purse. He pulled her to the ground and dragged her 20 feet.

Blackwell hung on tight, screaming.

“He was tugging and tugging and I had my arms over my head,” said Blackwell.

George Smith heard her cries for help.

"I heard a scream and I turned around and looked and I saw this guy dragging a lady across the parking lot with her purse strap,” said Smith.

At the time, Smith was carrying a 96-load bottle of Tide laundry detergent. So, he ran up to the thief did what came naturally.

"I just hauled off and hit him across the head with it,” said Smith.

The detergent that makes Smith’s clothes so soft and clean came down hard on a dirty crook, allowing two other Good Samaritans time to run up and tackle the robber.

Police arrested 31-year-old Aaron Brown III. He's now facing a charge of first degree robbery and has prior theft and robbery convictions.

"I'm so thankful for the people that helped me," said Blackwell.

Smith is thankful he was there with his unlikely weapon.

"I guess Tide does take care of the dirty things,” said Smith.

Stress Management

Photobucket

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 8oz. to 20oz.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it."

"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.

If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance."

"In each case it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on."

"As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. "

"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work/life down. Don't carry it home You can pick it up tomorrow."

"Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested.

Life is short. Enjoy!"

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

1 * Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue

2 * Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.

3 * Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

4 * Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their Maker.

5 * If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.

6 * If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

7 * It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

8 * Never buy a car you can't push.

9 * Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.

10 * Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

11 * Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.

12 * The second mouse gets the cheese.

13 * When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.

14 * Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.

15 * You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be the world to one person.

16 * Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

17 * We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box .

18 * A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

I don't do windows...

I don't do windows...

If you hate to clean like me then this will make your day lol.. check it out!

Going out to eat... Alana edition.

********UPDATE PICTURES!!!**********

Tonight my mom and I (and Alana and Donni) went to my favorite mexican restaurant.. yes the same one I always go to.. anyway when we were about to leave they sang happy birthday to another table.. Alana was happy and excited for the singing..

They stop and she starts getting upset..

I say "what??"

She says "birthday cake"..

Sigh... one day she will learn that there will not always be cake when she hears the birthday song.

She will not have to be practically dragged out of a restaurant which even that was only possible by allowing her to go to the table that had the birthday song sang to them.. so we could prove to her that there was no birthday cake.. now if they had actually had cake we would have been screwed lol. We are at least thankful that the singing came at the time we were about to leave!

She had icecream before the singing you think her dessert appetite would be supressed no?

Oh and try going to a park, chuckie cheese etc. where there is birthday parties going on and you aren't a part of any of them?? yeah... don't get scared just yet.

In less then 2 weeks is HER birthday... now that will indeed have cake and she will be back to her blissful cake and birthday loving self!

On a side note I got her build a bear today.. and when you push it's paw it sings a version of happy birthday :-D.

Follow me to a great place to eat!!

This was the saying today on the back of a delivery truck.. for Bargreen Ellingson , a food/restaurant service company if you must know.

"Follow Me To A Great Place To Eat!"

So this saying normally would be good adverisement no?? Well that is if anyone would actually follow a delivery truck to find their next great meal.

No I did not "follow" this truck they just happened to be in front of me heading to the same place..

Children's Hospital in Seattle..

So you tell me do you think a hospital cafeteria or even a hospital bed is a great place to eat???

Craigslist Funnies

After reading this blog.. about funny things found on Craigslist I think I might start this as another weekly post on my blog.. Let's say Tuesdays! Since well I have stuff/memes to do mon, wed and thurs already and I work weekends lol. I posted a few funny ads on my old xanga a few times and it was fun so If it gains interest we can make it a meme!! If you are interested in scouting your local craigslist for funny stuff let me know in a comment! Then we can find someone to make a button and give it a clever name lol :-P.

So this is what I found for this week from the free section:

Old Gateway computer (purchased circa 2000). You get the tower (minus the hard drive), a monitor, and a keyboard.

Does not come in a box designed to look like a milk cow. You haul.

In reference to this:

You know I never really thought about it but why do they package their computers this way?? lol.

So, I am not entirely sure how I came into possession of this artwork.

I do know I got it from the artist, and that I kinda felt sorry for her. She was a friend of a friend and I do not recall her name. It's not terribly large, maybe 10" x 16".

Photobucket

Yeah I'd call that disturbing too but not sure I'd call it "art".

A little of this and that...

**I won a 25$ build a bear E-giftcard!
Woohoo, I feel so special thanks MyLooneyVerse!

**Today is the other halfs 30th birthday... man we're getting old (well he is haha I have 4 more yrs until I hit 30.. my dearest apologizes to those over 30 lol). The girls and I just baked a cake using the modifications to boxed cake listed here, I also made cupcakes using it for Valentines day for work. We made up this frosting for it just waiting for it to cool to frost it, I made those bars for valentines day as well and I like that frosting better then the frosting that was listed for the cupcakes. We also used this idea to color sugar to decorate the cake with, its "drying" on some wax paper now! I think I am going to use a straw to nicely place the sugar to write out happy birthday.. we will see how it works! I will share my finished product! If the caregiver gets here before he does Kaila and I are going to the store to get some balloons and a little something for him. He already got his main gift a new home stereo that came in the mail a few days ago! But I like to let Kaila pick out something for him "from the kids".

**Kaila lately has this saying she uses... "oh barnicles". She said she learned it from disney.com? Anywho she says this in place of things like darnit, shoot etc.. Like if I say no you can't do or have something she says "oh barnicles". It really is driving me just a little crazy, I know its appropriate I mean, when you step on barnicles it makes you want to drop the S or F Bombs.. Now if you aren't familiar with them just take my word for it you non rocky beach people.

**Alana the other day we were out grocery shopping, as I was returning some movies to the moviecube Alana says Quieres Yogos?? (you know yogos those yogurt coated thingamiggys) I was like seriously did you just speak spanish to me lol. This coming from a girl with Autism and doesn't even like speaking English.. She is actually quite the parrot and will repeat just about anything she hears. The other half is spanish speaking and he thinks its just so awesome she repeats him and he does it when he talks to his family in Mexico on the phone so they can hear her lol.. This is the first time though that I have heard her use any of it functionally.. Oh and for those who have no idea what Quieres means, it means want.

I am so happy and overjoyed to announce that the smell culprit has been found!!

THANK THE LORD

The smell has been identified! That was just an awful 2 weeks let me tell you, window open, tarts burning, carpet shampooing, new mattress buying (which needed to be done anyway, this time I left the plastic on..), smell was worse when the heater was on...

All because of this

Don't mean to gross anyone out, okay maybe I do...

If you cannot tell what that rancid thing that is, it would be a large pack of honey turkey lunchmeat that my so darling daughter Kaila loves to eat out of the package and left it in the room and it got under a dresser (it was stuck in a barely visible spot in the corner and was elusive until now).. and I finally found it!

Sue me...

So I know I neglected blogosphere this weekend... sue me.
So I know I didn't do Not Me Monday today... sue me. I was busy shopping taking care of my kids. In fact today I was out to eat at Izzy's Buffet with all children in tow.. and saw these tiny tiny little cones.. for the icecream that just made me giggle.. that is a normal size pepper shaker for size reference.. lol.

My Tattooing Rules: the good, the funny, the bad, and the ugly..

We didn't get our tats because it was busy, and the other half couldn't find a design he wanted and we just left. Maybe another day right?? I am getting something at least but I am not so sure anymore that I am getting the autism puzzle designs. We went to dinner instead ALONE you know how long it's been since we've done that? lol I can't even remember.

My reasonings for maybe not doing the puzzle anymore and getting something else because while I was looking for design ideas I came across a few people and websites especially older folks with autism/aspergers that do not like the puzzle as the sign of autism. This was news to me.. I didnt know some don't agree with it. What if some day the logo is changed then what will my puzzle piece be for? I know it would still have meaning of course but I am rethinking it and may get something else.

I have no problems with the puzzle piece because it brings attention to autism, and I personally think a puzzle accurately represents the complexity of the majority of autism cases. However I am not so sure I want it now. I found Autism spelled out in different colored blocks that I like that I may get that instead on my wrist (viewable but also able to be covered with a watch for work) or a butterfly or a heart that has puzzle pieces that form it.. that way its more then just a puzzle piece or pieces?

So since we didn't get our tattoos last night I am posting about tattoos anyway because upon my search for a tat design I got the "bright" idea for this post.

Love or Hate em?

My own Tattoo Rules:

I am sure some of these have already been seen by most...

Some of them you may not have seen...

Some of them are worth revisiting...

Just so you can remind yourself that you are not so stupid after all.

Tattooing Rule #3: Never EVER let an amateur tat you.. especially if you messed up rule #1 already.

__________________________________________________________

Tattooing Rule #4: Do not place logo's on your body for any amount of money... Even if you love it as referenced by said tattoo placement.

_______________________________________________________

Tattooing Rule #5: If you insist on tattooing a logo or name please think about placement, somewhere it can at least be covered like the dumba$$ above and not the dumba$$ below.

Tattooing Rule #6: Do not under any circumstance ask for a celebrity tattoo.. you might end up with this...

_______________________________________________________

Tattooing Rule #7: Avoid copying portraits at all costs, if you must get one have a professional pencil sketch done of the photo first and use that as the template for the tattoo! Also check the artists experience WITH PROOF of doing such tats BEFORE you.. And follow rule #2.. supervise, supervise!
The last thing someone wants that is in heaven is to be remembered like this...

Tattooing Rule #8: Never use your belly button to mimic a rear-end in a tattoo. It's not cool it's rather gross.. furthermore.. do not use your hairy armpits or hairy nether regions for such grossness either. (disclosure: the links contain adult material NOT suited for adults and/or children)

(please ignore the baby)

Tattooing Rule #9: If you are coerced into disobeying rule # 8 at least make it somewhat entertaining.. to mask the grossness.
